The Fangspire

The Fangspire was a storyline that spanned three comics in the Penny Arcade continuity. It occurs immediately after Carl is attacked by the deep crow in The Crevice.

The story arc details the aftermath of Carl being mauled by the Deep Crow beneath Gabe's basement. Carl is taken to the deep crow's nest, located in "the womb of the Ancient Earth."[1] After awaking and realizing his location, he commends the deep crow on successfully catching him off guard. Carl then, using old magic, tames the deep crow and flies away, using it as his steed.
